Passport and visaThe world offers numerous locations waiting for occasional explorers, yet only a few places hold deep significance to members of The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints. In these destinations, Mormons can both have vacation fun and learnings about their faith.

You can take a look at the list below and pick a place for your next family, friends, or solo trip.

Monuments in San Diego

Local destinations perfect for Mormons abound. You can take a trip to San Diego, California, and experience some sun, even during the winter season.

While you are there, you can check out the Mormon Battalion Monument that commemorates the story of Mormon pioneers who made their way through the Salt Lake valley.

Farm and Grove in Upstate New York

On the opposite side of America, you can head to Upstate New York, where you can find multiple Mormon destinations. You can visit the Smith Family Farm and the Sacred Grove. The Hill Cumorah Pageant and Grandin Print Shop are also must-sees.

Mission HW in Hawaii

When you want to visit a more exotic place, you can take a cruise to Hawaii. Laie, Hawaii, in particular, houses the Polynesian Cultural Center, BYU-Hawaii campus, and Laie Hawaii Temple grounds. As a fun fact, the location also housed the Hawaiian Mission headquarters from 1865 to 1919.

Christ’s Home in the Holy Land

For an even farther trip, you can take a cruise to Israel and join a LDS Holy Land tour. In the land of Jesus Christ, you can visit the Mount of Olives, the Garden of Gethsemane, the Sea of Galilee, and many other iconic locations. You can walk in the footsteps of Christ and feel what he probably felt during his time.

Other locations, both local and abroad, hold significance for Mormons. You can head to Mars’ Hill where Paul made his Acts 17 sermon. You can visit Tulum or Chichen Itza in Mexico to find ruins that may contain possible ties to Book of Mormon peoples or Christ himself.
