Photo of a dome in IsraelKnown as the Holy Land, Israel is an interesting and important place to visit for Christians. It is a both an educational and uplifting experience to walk where Jesus Christ walked.

If you’re planning an LDS Israel tour, Cruise Lady suggests that you visit these spots and sites:

1. Church of Holy Sepulcher

Readers of the New Testament will know that the Church of Holy Sepulcher has been mentioned in all four Gospels. Calvary, where Jesus was crucified, can be found in this place. Moreover, the Tomb of Christ, where Jesus was buried and has resurrected, is also here.

2. Mount of Olives

Jewish and Christian people consider the Mount of Olives as a sacred place. Historically, the mountain has been a Jewish burial ground for 3,000 years. Among the graves included there are tombs of Haggai, Zachariah, and Malachi – three prophets from the Old Testament. Meanwhile, in the New Testament, it can be remembered that Jesus stood in the Mount of Olives as he cried over Jerusalem.

3. Sea of Galilee

The Sea of Galilee serves as a backdrop for many key stories in the New Testament, including the moment when Jesus called four of his apostles. Also, the popular Sermon of the Mount was delivered on the Mount of Beatitudes, which is located just close by. Jesus likewise walked on water and fed thousands near this area.

4. Jordan River

Other than being the place where John the Baptist baptized Jesus, Jordan River is also known as the place where Naaman was cleansed of his leprosy when the prophet Elijah commanded him to wash himself there.
